iMAX-8000M Multi-mode MESH Ad-hoc Network Wireless Gateway

分类:
The iMAX-8000M is a flexibly customizable multi-frequency and multi-mode wireless gateway for wireless metropolitan area networks. It supports networking in routing ring network or centerless mesh topology, and delivers powerful capabilities of dynamic self-organization, self-healing and high-bandwidth access.
Compared with traditional mesh wireless systems, this product is no longer limited to the “BS-CPE” communication framework. Any two devices can set up a network on demand, and multiple devices can form a multi-ring network as required, greatly improving system reliability. It is highly suitable for rapid emergency mesh networking requirements of mobile communication scenarios such as vehicle-mounted, airborne, shipborne and individual soldier deployment. Meanwhile, its advanced routing mechanism enables excellent load balancing performance, making it ideal for large-scale mesh networking deployment.
Different from conventional mesh wireless systems, the iMAX-8000M maintains negligible bandwidth loss during multi-hop relay communication and supports routing ring networking. It can be converged with optical fibers to perfectly solve the unreliability issue of the chain topology in traditional mesh systems, making it well-suited for building high-reliability networks with chain topology in confined spaces such as tunnels, pipe corridors and roadways. When paired with medium and high-frequency leaky wave cables, it can further extend Wi-Fi coverage radius, achieve more uniform Wi-Fi coverage, and better adapt to complex terrain with multiple branches.
Fully optimized for target application scenarios such as vehicle vibration and harsh environments, the iMAX-8000M adopts aviation connector design, complies with industrial wide-temperature operating standards and meets IP67 protection rating. It supports flexible customization with up to 4 wireless modules including iMAX wireless metropolitan area network technology and Wi-Fi (2.4G IEEE802.11b/g/n). Equipped with 2 local Ethernet ports and 1 standard 2-core LC fiber port, it can serve as a converged gateway for multi-services such as video, voice and data transmission.
Leveraging iMAX private wireless network technology to achieve ultra-long transmission distance, high bandwidth and high reliability, the device can be extended with standard 2.4GHz WLAN Wi-Fi modules or 4G LTE modules to realize Wi-Fi terminal access or 4G virtual private network deployment. This enhances its adaptability for more application scenarios, especially hot standby and redundancy scenarios that demand high reliability, security and stability.

Technical Features & Advantages:

  • Flexible Customization
The device is equipped with 4 wireless interfaces by default: 2 × 5GHz wireless metropolitan area network (WMAN) modules + 2 × 2.4G Wi‑Fi modules. Configuration is customizable: Wi‑Fi modules can be reduced as required, or expanded to a full set of 4 × 5GHz WMAN modules. A 4G LTE module is optional to build a virtual private network via telecom operator networks.
  • High Bandwidth
The throughput of a single WMAN module reaches up to 300 Mbps; the total bandwidth of dual modules is 300 Mbps × 2, and the customized 4‑module version achieves up to 300 Mbps × 4.

The total throughput of a single Wi‑Fi module reaches up to 150 Mbps (standard 2.4G IEEE802.11b/g/n), with dual‑module total bandwidth of 150 Mbps × 2.
The two Wi‑Fi modules can be replaced with 4G LTE modules for telecom operator network access and virtual private network deployment. The maximum transmission rate of the 4G LTE module is up to 50 Mbps, subject to the communication capacity of local operator base stations.
  • Operating Frequency Band
The WMAN module supports full 5GHz band (4.9–6.0 GHz) with software configurable frequency; the typical operating frequency is 5.8GHz. The Wi‑Fi module supports the 2.4GHz band.
  • Networking Modes
The WMAN module supports multiple networking topologies including routing ring network, MESH networking, chain networking, and double‑layer tree topology. The Wi‑Fi module can operate as a Wi‑Fi AP, allowing access by all IEEE802.11b/g/n compliant devices.
  • Transmission Distance
Under line‑of‑sight (LOS) conditions, the maximum typical communication distance of WMAN module networking reaches up to 10 km; the typical Wi‑Fi coverage radius is 100–200 meters.
  • Self‑Organization
Rapid deployment after pre‑configuration; zero‑configuration network nodes, plug‑and‑play and instant availability. It can quickly establish emergency, temporary and mobile networks. It supports intelligent wireless Automatic Distance Learning (ADI), Adaptive Adaptive Rate (AAR), Automatic Channel Selection (ACS) and other advanced communication technologies.
  • Self‑Healing
If any network node goes offline due to power failure, fault or signal occlusion, wireless links of other nodes will automatically and rapidly switch to backup links to ensure normal operation of the rest of the network.

When multiple transmission paths are available, the network dynamically adjusts communication routes according to node routing priorities, effectively avoiding communication congestion, and providing enhanced redundancy and communication load balancing capabilities.
  • Security
The air interface of the WMAN module adopts proprietary iMAX private wireless communication technology. The wireless link supports wireless packet isolation, MAC address filtering, and AES 128‑bit dynamic high‑level encrypted data transmission.

It supports multiple security mechanisms including VLAN, VPN, DoS attack prevention, built‑in software firewall, and various tunnel communication protocols.

Typical Applications:

The unique multi-mode wireless link design of the iMAX-8000M multi-mode gateway provides high-reliability “routed mesh network” support for emergency communication scenarios in specialized industries. Compared with traditional low-frequency MESH systems (typically recommended for 32/64 nodes), the iMAX-8000M significantly reduces overall deployment costs. In addition, bandwidth does not degrade across multi-hop links, enabling the system to achieve dozens of times higher total bandwidth and support unlimited node expansion (supports no less than 256 mesh nodes, with a theoretical maximum of 65,535 nodes). Meanwhile, the higher operating frequency delivers stronger anti-interference performance and higher reliability.
